About Us

Grihini is a voluntary organisation devoted to the overall development and empowerment of women. It was established on 15th May 1996 and is registered under the Societies Act on 26 June 1997. The main force behind its origin was the enthusiasm of progressive rural women, people's representatives, non-governmental organisations, and, last but not least, the nearby leading Corporations including NABARD, SIGHTSAVERS, World Bank, CARE International, Azim Premji Foundation, Dept. of Women and Child Development. Grihini is moving forward on the path of progress through the collective efforts of all. To develop women so that their innate talents and capabilities are developed and they can recognise their potential and take their own decision to improve their economic, health, social and political condition.
